A unique project that is currently under progress in Dubai, the Dubai Metro is considered as the most prestigious transportation project across the Middle East. Tabreed has entered into a strategic agreement with the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), to serve the Dubai Metro and auxiliary developments with an estimated cooling capacity requirement of 300,000 TR. The current Dubai Metro phase (Red Line), with a total length of 52 kilometers, has 23 elevated stations, 2 depots and 4 underground stations. To meet the cooling demand of the Red Line phase, Tabreed is constructing 6 plant rooms with a total cooling capacity of 42,000 TR and an associated chilled water network. This project has laid forward some unique project management challenges for Tabreed to meet such as demanding deadlines, laying of 70 kilometers of pipes through the heart of Dubai without disrupting the normal city life, massive coordination efforts with number of parties all working together to meet the common goal of making this venture a success.
Located near Zayed Sports City, the scheme offers cooling services to the following clients: Zayed Military Hospital, Al Bateen Air Base, Diabetic Center, ID Building, Al Noor Hospital and the General Pension & Social Security Authority Building. Further customers across the Zayed Sports City area can be supplied to ultimately increase the facility's contracted capacity to over 22,500 refrigerating tons.
